Mentorship
Program
Our mentorship program is one of PWCC’s favorite programs! This program is an exclusive member-only benefit and offered at no cost to our members. Our Member Engagement Committee carefully matches mentors and mentees to ensure a successful mentoring relationship throughout the programming year.
"I've seen first hand (and data supports this) - organizations that focus on problem solving and forward progress see remarkable results in terms of long-term career impact for their mentees. This is why we’ve restructured PWCC’s mentoring program to be solution-oriented and tailored to each mentee’s specific needs."

Mentorship Program FAQs
-
This 4-month mentoring match is designed to focus on a particular goal or challenge you have: Challenging work environment? Want to be ready for promotion? Need to up your game as a public speaker? This program matches you with a member uniquely suited to support you. When this cohort ends, consider joining again with a new challenge.
Our goal is to elevate your career, and quickly.
-
Candidate mentees should have a specific goal or issue to work on, clearly stated in their submission.
Then we can use our powerful network of smart professionals to find someone to make a difference for you!
-
The mentee schedules meetings, shares the goal in advance, and shares information in advance of the meeting.
-
The mentor just shows up to meetings ready to be wise and share insight, and give the mentee support.
-
The duration is 4 months, and each pair is minimally asked to meet monthly for 45 minutes. The goal is to keep the focus tight, and the time burden small. You will be amazed at what you can do in 4 months. (Also, our mentors and mentees really seem to get along and schedule more meetings and stay in touch after the cohort ends.)
-
Because of the tight matches we aim to make, each cohort has different needs. Please let someone on the membership committee know you’d love to help, and in what area you have a superpower.
-
The Program Coordinator will review all the applicants, and work with the smart women in PWCC to find strong mentors to seek out for this partnership.
-
The application process for 2024-25 First cohort is due September 13th.
Dates for following cohorts will be announced as that timing is set. Space is limited, so please apply early! The program has typically accommodated between 10-20 mentor-mentee pairs.
-
The mentee is responsible for setting an agenda for the mentor-mentee relationship and initiating communications with her mentor throughout the program. This includes contacting the mentor as soon as possible to set up the first meeting. Each mentor-mentee pair can decide what form of communication works for them, whether it be Zoom, phone, e-mail, or in-person meetings.
We expect confidentiality from the pairs so that mentees can feel confident in sharing details that will help the mentor make a difference.
Ideally, each mentor-mentee pair will have meaningful contact approximately once per month for the duration of the program, although this goal may be adjusted to accommodate each pair’s desires, interest and schedule. It is recommended that each pair set up a consistent “standing date” to minimize outside interference with the pair’s meetings. -
Yes! We plan to hold an in-person meet and greet and orientation before or after the October PWCC luncheon. More details will be available soon!

Honestly, sometimes a match is not made in heaven – but these partnerships are brief, and problem focused. If we ever have a mentor pair that can tell immediately that they are not a fit, we will reset the match.
